MOBILE CLINIC BUS COORDINATOR Under the supervision of the CFO/COO, the Mobile Clinic Bus Coordinator ensures that the program provides high-quality health and other services to all children, including services to children with disabilities, that are developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate (HSPPS 1302.
40).
General Coordinate a center schedule for the mobile visits and on-site set up.
The Health/Nutrition Coordinator will assign the Health Facilitators to assist once the bus is set up on-site.
With the help of the Health/Nutrition Coordinator, organizes the health services for children enrolled in the program via the mobile clinic bus (HSPPS 1302.

44) Working with the Health/Nutrition Coordinator, create a schedule so that Health Facilitators are readily available to assist with the children and health documents.
Develop a professional working relationship with the staff serving children and families on the bus.
Establishes and maintains confidentiality policies and procedures in accordance with HSPPS 1303 Subpart C.
Educates families about how all aspects of health and nutrition affect children's learning and school readiness the importance of completing health requirements on time.

Develops and sustains trusting relationships with families to identify and use family strengths when addressing child health concerns, including children with suspected or diagnosed disabilities, and ensure that the program partners with families to promote safe, healthy and nurturing home environments (HSPPS 1302.

Accesses external resources for health and nutritional services to include services for children with disabilities, to include technical assistance providers, health consultants, and state and community agencies.
Establishes partnerships with local health care providers to support the health and nutritional needs of children and families.
Conducts ongoing monitoring to ensure the health and safety needs of children with disabilities are met and that any needed improvements are implemented as quickly as possible (HSPPS 1302.

Reports program level information on the status of health to meet program, federal and state requirements (including the Head Start Program Information Report - PIR).

Reports program level information on the status of health to the Governing Board and the Policy Council.

Coordinate the stocking and ordering of supplies to maintain inventory.
Health Knows current pediatric periodicity schedules (EPSTD) and monitors the health database and files to ensure children (birth to five) are receiving the appropriate care (HSPPS 1302.

Coordinates vision and hearing screenings for children within the 45-day requirements, and supports instructional and Health staff with ongoing health screening documentation (immunizations, physicals and well-baby checks).
Monitors Child Plus for health data updates as pertains to HSPPS compliance and PIR.
Conducts research, and attends training, pertaining to health and safety requirements to maintain current certifications, and ensure the most current information is shared with families and staff.
Regularly conduct health and safety monitoring and respond to any health or safety-monitoring finding through a Corrective Action Plan (CAP).
Work closely with Le Jardin community partners and maintain the partnerships.
Responsible for managing the disposal of hazardous waste pick up.
Skills and Knowledge Preferably has a working knowledge of the Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS) and with other federal, state, and local requirements regarding health and safety, including oral health and nutritional services in early care and education (HSPPS 1302.
91).
Possesses knowledge or attend training to acquire the knowledge of public health, nursing, health education, maternal and child health or health administration.
Hold a valid Driver License in order to drive the mobile bus from center to center.
Training in USDA procedures for Child Care Food Program and Nutrition Training.
Knowledge of Head Start Program Performance Standards in relation to nutrition services and regulations.
Knowledge in proper sanitation and disinfection procedures for a kitchen Thorough knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
Identify and address concerns, conflicts and disruptions in a professional manner.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
Ability to exercise good judgment.
Flexibility to travel between centers; possibly travel to more than one center per day.
Qualifications:
Associates Degree in public health, nursing, health education, maternal and child health, health administration or related field.
Strong organization, clerical and computer skills.
