Psychiatrist
Assigned to the Mental Health & Behavioral Sciences/Psychiatry Service, the incumbent serves as a primary provider of psychiatric care for an assigned panel of patients, working with patients who have serious chronic mental illness.
This includes psychiatric examination and treatment, coordination of medical care with the patient,'s primary care provider, coordination of consultations, referral of patients, operation of quality assurance and utilization programs including peer reviews, open and closed medical record review and utilization reviews.
He/she will use the medical records system (CPRS) for progress notes.
Location is at the Southern Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (days will be split between Homestead and Key Largo); however, incumbent must be flexible to work in the different locations of the Miami VA Healthcare System (Miami, Broward, CBOCs) and in different clinical domains across the care continuum (outpatient, residential, inpatient).
Limited Saturday clinic hours may be required.

Saturday clinic hours may be required.
